Get All You Can Out of Your All-Day Access Pass!

By Rachel Hoffmann

Oh, New York City, the beautiful concrete jungle. The best part is that there is always something going on and so much to explore! As a tourist visiting (or a New Yorker playing tourist for the day) our All-Day Access Pass can get you around Manhattan and Brooklyn in a jiff. To get the most out of your pass, here are 8 helpful tips:

  1. Get there early

The boat is kind of like the subway, in that it’s first come first serve, and not everyone is getting off. Also like the subway, there will be another boat to pick you up, but it could require you to wait up to 45 minutes. My insider tip – try to get there 15 – 20 minutes early.

  1. Check the schedule

The schedule changes seasonally (and sometimes daily) to accommodate the volume of riders or special events. Our website always has the most up to date schedule for that day. On the morning of your trip visit our website and make sure to take a screenshot on your phone so you don’t have to keep visiting the website and using data (save the data to post to your social media instead)

Please note this schedule is subject to change. Please check nywatertaxi.com for more information.

  1. Wear sunscreen

When on the top deck of the boat, the wind is cooling and there is so much to look at. It also means that there isn’t any shade, unless downstairs in the cabin. Make sure to put on some sunscreen. Your mother will be thanking us when you don’t come home looking like a tomato.

3

  1. Take lots of photos

It sounds obvious, but when seeing NYC’s amazing sights don’t forget the camera! As we head over to the Statue of Liberty our guide or deck hands can snap pictures of your group (don’t be afraid to ask)! Also, we’d love to see your photos so remember to use the hashtag #NYWT.

  1. Enjoy concessions

Don’t forget to visit our concessions! We’re stocked with different snacks, juice, water, soda and a bar (if you need a drink). We also have some pretty cool New York Water Taxi merch. Relax, take a sip of that drink, soak up the sun and take in the views when riding on our boat!

5

  1. Use the NYWaterWay Bus

We have a sweet deal with NYWaterWay! When leaving the boat at Pier 79, make sure to get on their bus. It’s free! That way you can head to Times Square with ease and get a ride back! However, keep in mind these aren’t like normal busses; you’ll have to wave them down like a taxi.

  1. Start your tour in the morning

The best part about the All-Day Access Pass is that you can use it all day. That means starting at 10am, on the first boat ride, will allow you to get the most out of your pass. Get on and off and check out all our locations with ease, by starting first thing in the morning.

  1. Have fun

The most important rule of riding our boats is to have fun! Take goofy pictures, sing along to the music on board and wave to the other boats passing by. Our goal is for you to get the most out of your trip. If you have any questions talk to the guide! Most are New York natives, so they know their way around the city! Make sure to take in the day and enjoy it as much as you can. We love that you have chosen us to be part of your New York City adventure.

  2. Amy says:

does the boat stop for hop on/off when it’s heading back “north” or only when heading south?

    1. Hi Amy,

Does the water taxi allow you to hop off at the Statue of Liberty

    1. Hi Samantha,

We do not disembark at Liberty Island. We do however get you 100ft away from the statue to give you the iconic view and photo opportunity!
